How to check your celebrant is registered

Ask the person for the name they are registered under. Clergy titles and nicknames can differ from the register.

Search this site by name or browse their county. If they are not here, check the date we last refreshed the file, then check gov.ie. We reproduce the public register. We do not add people.

If they say they are ordained, that is not enough in Ireland. Ordination without a nominating body on this list does not make a legal marriage.
